Sit on knees on the ground. Put a thick blanket or a thick so that head doe'nt feel the hard ness of the ground.
Procedure
Join the finger of both the hands and put them on the blanket. Between the joined hands, there should be a place to put the head.
Place the head between the palms. Firmly hold the head. Legs should be firmly placed on the ground.
Slowly bring the thighs near the chest.
Maintaining the balance, try to lift the legs from the ground. While doing it feet should be joined.
Lift both the legs until the legs are perfectly perpendicular to the earth.
Caution
This Asana should be practiced with patience. This Asana should not be done when you have cold, bleeding and high blood pressure.
Duration
In the beginning do it for only two minutes. The gradually increase up to ten minutes after one month. After three or four months this Asana can be done up to fifteen minutes.
Benefits
Brain becomes strong. Defects of eyes, Asthama, ailments of chest, head-ache, stomach pain, constipation, indigestion are cured. Hairs become healthy. This is a very good Asana. As you have to stand on head in this Asana, it is called as Shirshasana. Shirsha means head.
