Sitali Pranayama

Firmly sit in a Asana. Curl the tongue cylindriclly, protrude it in front of the lips and do Puraka through the mouth with the hissing noise of a snake. When the Puraka is over, do Kumbhaka with Jalandhara Bandha and Mula Bandha. The ratio of Puraka: Kumbhaka: Rechaka is 1:4:2. After the Kumbhaka, release the Bandhas and do the Rechaka slowly.

Benefits of Sitali Pranayama:

Sitali Pranayama cures diseases of throat, indigestion, disorders of spleen. It cures several fever. Power of control is obtained over hunger and thirst and it is quoted in ancient books on Yoga. Diseases caused by the Pitta Dosa are cured by Sitali Pranayama. Blood is purified by Sitali pranayama.
